Nebraska: Variations

VARIATIONS

1915:  Type 1 - 6" x 15", square slots, wide legends, dash suffix

                on 1-2-digits, no dash on 3-4-digits, legends center-

                justified along with numbers

       Type 2 - 6" x 16", round slots, thin legends, dash suffix

                on 4-digits (number sequence seems random)

1916:  Type 1 - Square slots              1 -  49163     (49,163 S)

       Type 2 - Round slots           50537 -  99806     (49,270 S)

       Type 3 - Monogram as 1917     100100 - 100937        (838 S)

1917-19:  6-digits have thinner numerals than 1-5-digits.

1919:  Type 1 - 1917-18 dies, 5 1/2" tall   1 - 199565  (200,000 ordered)

(20)   Type 2 - Thin dies, 6" tall     200069 - 273039   (72,971 S)

1921:  All have additional hole at lower right for possible tab.

1942:  Type 1 - Dated "42", no painted border, 11" or 12 1/2" long

1972-75:   Errors, hyphen after letter instead of before, or tall

           letters mixed with short numerals.

           Additionally, #5/9-B1226 has short dies but large "B".

1972 Type 1:  Large 1962-71 dies, galvanized steel (Large 5/9)

1973 Type 2:  Thin dies, galvanized steel

1974 Type 3:  Thin dies, plain steel

1975 Type 4:  Thin dies, aluminum
