ALABAMA
Motorcycles were covered under the state's first registration law in 1903, and received county certificates just like automobiles. There are no known examples of city licensing of motorcycles, despite several cities passing registration ordinances prior to the new state law of 1911. State-issued motorcycle plates began on October 1, 1911, at the same time as passenger plates. No 1912 motorcycle plates are known. The earliest known motorcycle plates are 1914 issues #121 to 169.
