TRANSPORTATION LICENSE
Ch. 341 P 6/13/1923, E 1/1/1924.  Began 1924.
Supplemental plates issued by Board of Equalization to common and
contract carrier trucks and buses transporting commodities or
passengers for hire beyond incorporated cities and towns, and
required to pay 4% tax on gross proceeds.  Discontinued 1/1/1928.
All are undated, White/Black, issued in pairs.
 
Oxnard Daily Courier, 11/24/1925:  "...where a company or person
is transporting his or its own commodities, according to the
state for exempt plates which are marked "X", as stated above,
and they are not required to pay taxes in their operation."
 
On 11/8/1926, the adoption of a constitutional amendment, Section
15, Article XIII, exempted common carriers from the tax, leaving
only the contract carriers.
