Waco News-Tribune, 9/11/1969: "The house resolution limits SO plates
to statewide elected officials, the Secretary of State and members of
the Legislature, and no official may obtain more than 2 sets. SO 24-26
were assigned to the Court of Criminal Appeals. When the court was
enlarged from three to five members it was not considered proper to
give the new judges higher numbers so they got 24 SO and 25 SO. The
identification numbers and letters have been turned around in other
categories also to take care of the rapid growth and confusion. The
numbers of district judges starts at SO 800 and goes higher, while
domestic relations court judges start at 819 SO and run backward."
