Morning Call (Paterson), 4/18/1950: "Anyone operating a powerboat
carrying passengers for hire must secure a special passenger boat
license plate. Persons renting boats with motors may also secure a
special plate, this being the first year such a plate has been issued."
Morning Call (Paterson), 6/15/1950: "Fees charged for licenses
effective May 1 of each year are: Operators license $1.50; Inboard
boat registration, $1.50; Outboard Motor registration, $1.50;

"RUMSON - Licenses for oystermen and clammers are now available
at the borough clerk's office at $1 each Clerk Jere Carew
announced today. 'This is the first time the clerk's office
has handled the licenses,' Carew added. 'All those numbered
300 and under are oyster licenses and numbers over 300 are
clammers."
In 1938, fees were $1.50 for clam licenses and $2.50 for oyster.
